Photo Juxtaposition

The color Separation

finalprototype finalprototype

We juxtaposed a historical photo with the current landscape in the same direction. We did CMYK color separation for historical photos in photoshop, and printed them in four pieces of transparent film paper. Then we stuck each of them onto four transparent glasses and inserted them into different layers of the viewfinder. We attached the left and right arrows to each piece of glasses to encourage more touching and moving. Through removing and sliding the glasses, the visitors would get a different view of the historic image, and the way it interacts with the current scene.

Other Modifications

We used a tripod stand to replace the cardboard base to increase the stability. And added footprints to encourage people to stop and take a look.
